The Sao Tome Map Project

Our goal is to ensure the people of São Tomé have access to and ownership of relevant local spatial data so they can better make informed decisions about development of their land and resources. Through innovative use of GIS and supporting tools as well as collaboration between key Sao Tome locals and an interdisciplinary team of researchers, we plan to not only empower the community to solve problems, but develop a process and model for future application in similar settings.
